From my beloved mom, the post of the week - a card that sparkles in sunshine and shimmers in shade:
Birthday off to a scrumptious start.
Grateful to be here. Happy happy day :-)

Rainflowers
Making sogginess special:
all of this rain has been inspiring me :-)

I'm experimenting with some in gold as well, which look very well holding rain. Though, if they should happen to dry out during a few weeks of glorious summer, I wouldn't be cross or anything...

You are the sky :-)
Walking to work (on a less soggy morning) - this caught my eye and brought a smile.

Sunshiney impressions
What a sunshiney week off! Lovely mix of outdoor life and homey things. Enjoying strolling Dublin and catching up on its changing streetscapes...
And the Chester Beatty fountain is as evocative as ever.
The little cottage roof has been tended to, following a stubborn leak. The roofers have just left, which means...

A good tonic
The great Time of Volunteering is coming to a close, and the superhectic period of Job the First is also concluding.
Some time off to chill out, catch up, do some craftey stuff & take a few day trips.
But first, a flumpy Sunday afternoon: Columbo, naps - sheer heaven!

Post of the Week
I have accepted the fact that I now blog intermittently. Not an easy admission...
Post of the week arrived yesterday. A Little Black Cat Card, which turned out to be a thing of great interest to the Little Black Cat.
She spent some time trying to read it, which was tough on two levels: (a) Dubh can't read, and (b) The Card Sender's handwriting can be a... challenge.
Still, Dubh fancied herself a Codebreaker for a brief time. She's back to playing Kitty Commando with the plants now; normality is restored :-)

Leafing through colour
Until I find my little camera cord, recent photos remain held hostage. Baby steps...
In the interim: a short, delightful film on bookstore happenings after the lights go out.

Wooly antics
Happy yawwwwn... and a happy new year to all. Thus far, this year is pretty fab.
Today I've been playing with some hand-dyed wool, which gradually formed into a Children of Lir kinda thing... there's plenty more final touches & twiddling to do, but it made for a charming morning (while Miss Marple solved a mystery in the background) :-) This Season was filled with oodles of conversation, and those Lir swan-siblings were one of the many captivating subjects.
(PS: thanks to my little black cat for her patience while I was playing with the wool. She teetered over the strands, holding herself back, with the odd little whimper. Such fortitude... And thanks to Sandra & the sheep of Inis beg for the wool!)
Well, it's almost certainly nap o'clock, on the last day of my Christmas holidays. Busy busy!
